Reports To: Director, Ontario Region
Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Medical and dental coverage, 3 weeks of vacation to start, and observance of all Jewish holidays.

The Organization

CJPAC is a national, independent, multi-partisan organization. Our mandate is to engage Jewish Canadians and allies in the democratic process and to foster active political participation.

Why work at CJPAC?

CJPAC aims to be the best place to work for dedicated, hard-working people who want to protect Canada’s democracy from the threats of hatred and extremism.

Every day, we work to strengthen Canadian democracy through political engagement. It’s a mission that’s more important than ever.

Working here isn’t always easy, but it’s full of meaning. We provide a supportive environment with constant opportunities to develop your skills, advance your career, and find new ways to advance our mission.

Position Overview:

With around half of all Jewish Canadians living in Ontario, this is a pivotal moment to expand CJPAC’s impact in Canada’s largest province. The Community Engagement Manager is a new role created to grow Ontario’s capacity — combining hands-on operational ownership with real political fluency.

Reporting to the Regional Director (Ontario) and working closely with the national team, you will keep Ontario’s programs, events, volunteer engagement, and community outreach running with excellence — while bringing genuine political understanding to how we mobilize the community and its allies across electoral and civic engagement cycles.

This is a hybrid position, with a flexible combination of in-office, home-based, and community work in the Toronto/GTA area. Evening and weekend work will be required around events and engagement cycles.

As we build staff capacity in Ontario, this role is positioned to grow with the region — an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to deepen a career at the intersection of community engagement and Canadian politics.

Key Responsibilities:

Political Engagement & Mobilization

  • Help connect community members and allies with opportunities to make a difference as volunteers, donors, and organizers across all three levels of government.
  • Support relationships with elected officials, political staff, candidates, and campaign teams.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, engagement, and the leads pipeline through electoral and civic engagement cycles.
  • Bring political judgment to regional planning — applying an understanding of the landscape, the players, and how campaigns actually work.

Programs & Events

  • Coordinate regional events and programming from planning through execution, including registrations, logistics, communications, and follow-up.
  • Recruit participants for CJPAC’s Fellowship, Generation, and campaign training programs across Ontario.
  • Support presentations, community briefings, and tabling at community events.

Community & Stakeholder Relationships

  • Build and maintain relationships with synagogues, community organizations, student groups, volunteers, and allied organizations.
  • Represent CJPAC at community events and outreach opportunities.
  • Prepare for and track stakeholder meetings, ensuring consistent, professional follow-up.

Systems, Data & Operations

  • Own the Ontario CRM (Salesforce): maintain the database of members, donors, volunteers, and political contacts, and keep it accurate and actionable.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and regional metrics.
  • Coordinate calendars, scheduling, and meeting logistics, and keep priorities moving to completion.
  • Support content and communications — social posts, mailings, and presentation decks.

Development Support

  • Coordinate donor meetings and support fundraising events.
  • Maintain stewardship records and prepare prospect research.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Genuine political experience (required): hands-on involvement in political campaigns, a political party or electoral district association, an elected official’s or constituency office, or advocacy / government-relations work. This is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
  • Strong familiarity with the Jewish community (required): a solid understanding of the community and its organizational and political landscape in Ontario.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in community engagement, politics, nonprofit, public affairs, or a related field.
  • Exceptional organization and follow-through: able to prioritize, juggle multiple projects, and reliably close the loop in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong people skills: quick to find common ground and build relationships with community members, volunteers, and partners.
  • AI fluency: CJPAC expects team members to use AI tools ethically and thoughtfully — as a thought partner, planning aid, and force multiplier — to work smarter and extend their impact. Comfort adopting new tools and applying good judgment about when and how to use them is expected.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including public speaking and presentation skills.
  • A growth mindset and a genuine commitment to CJPAC’s mission.
  • Salesforce (or similar CRM) experience is a strong asset.
  • A university or college degree, or equivalent experience.

How to Apply:

Research shows that many applicants — including women and people of colour — do not apply for positions unless they meet every listed requirement. If you are excited about working with CJPAC and believe you can do this job, we want to hear from you.

Please send your application to HR@cjpac.ca by September 18 and include:

  • A resume;
  • A cover letter (max. one page); and
  • A brief response (a few sentences) to: “Tell us about your political experience — a campaign, party, office, or advocacy effort you’ve been part of — and what you took from it.”

While we appreciate all applications, only candidates who have been selected for an interview will be contacted.
