The Organization:

A national, independent, multi-partisan organization, CJPAC’s mandate is to engage Jewish Canadians and allies in the democratic process and to foster active political participation.

In our first 20 years, CJPAC has delivered extraordinary impact. But our work is just beginning.

Anywhere decisions are made that impacts Jewish life in Canada, Jewish Canadians and our allies must be at the table. That’s what CJPAC delivers — through training, election impact, and meaningful relationships.

Overview of the Position:

CJPAC is growing rapidly across Canada — training and mobilizing Jewish Canadians and allies who share our commitment to protecting Canadian values like democracy, equality, and the rule of law.

As our next Associate Director, Political Engagement, you will play a pivotal role by empowering Jewish Canadians and allies to maximize their impact in the political arena.

You will quickly become CJPAC’s go-to resource for political engagement, data-driven mobilization, and best practices across Canada.

This is a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with a vast array of elected officials, political staff, and engaged Canadians across the political spectrum. And most importantly, to help protect what makes Canada special, now and for the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Political Concierge: You will empower members of the Jewish community and allies to make a difference in elections as volunteers, donors, and organizers, and by building relationships with elected officials.
  • Organizing Knowledge: You will master internal tools and systems, including Salesforce, to ensure a data-driven approach to political engagement and mobilization.
  • Playbooks and Toolkits: You will develop and optimize CJPAC’s processes and resources for political engagement and mobilization, serving as a trusted advisor for our national and regional teams, lay leaders, and volunteers.
  • Political Relationships: You will become a key owner of relationships with elected officials, political staff, candidates, and other stakeholders – identifying opportunities for collaboration and shared success.
  • Political Training: You will design and deliver training sessions on a range of political engagement topics, both virtually and in person.

Candidate Profile:

You are a fast-learning self-starter with a growth mindset, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a deep commitment to CJPAC’s mission.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of work experience, hands-on political experience, and a strong understanding of the Canadian political landscape and Jewish community.

Some travel and occasional evening / weekend work will be required.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Approachable and sociable, with the ability to quickly identify common ground and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Comfortable working with people from all parties, differing perspectives, and diverse cultural communities.
  • Strong leadership abilities, initiative, and flexibility.
  • Growth mindset and commitment to continual learning and improvement, with a desire to take on additional responsibility within CJPAC.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering engagement programs and events, especially in collaboration with volunteers.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and demonstrate ownership in a demanding, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, including public speaking.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce is essential for success, so prior CRM experience is an asset.

Location: Toronto

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Medical and dental coverage are provided.

Vacation for this role starts at three weeks per year. In addition, CJPAC observes all Jewish holidays.
