Position Summary
Camp Ramah in the Poconos seeks a passionate and results-driven Assistant Director of Advancement to join our collaborative advancement team. This key team member will focus on building and sustaining meaningful donor relationships, identifying and managing a portfolio of major donors and prospects, and securing gifts of $10,000 and above to support our $2 million annual fundraising goal. The role also supports special campaigns, donor-facing events, and efforts to grow and strengthen our donor base. This position contributes directly to the long-term vibrancy and sustainability of the Ramah community.
The Assistant Director will report to the Director of Advancement and work closely with a dedicated team, including a Development & Alumni Associate and a Database & HR Associate.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 25-50 major donors and prospects.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts of $10,000+ in partnership with senior staff and lay leaders.
- Conduct 8–10 meaningful donor interactions per month.
- Collaborate with the Director of Advancement on gift strategies, prospect research, and campaign planning.
- Partner with lay leaders and staff to deepen donor engagement and connect supporters to Ramah’s mission.
- Draft compelling donor communications, proposals, and stewardship materials.
- Maintain accurate, timely records of all interactions in Salesforce.
- Play an active role in special campaigns, legacy giving, and donor-facing events..
- Represent Camp Ramah at donor meetings and community events.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional fundraising experience, with a strong track record of success.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Familiarity with Salesforce (or similar CRM systems) preferred.
- Knowledge of the Jewish philanthropic landscape and passion for Jewish summer camping is a plus.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel for events or conferences.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $78,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience.
