Shalom, Thank you for your interest in becoming Brooklyn Heights Synagogue’s Director of Religious School. We are seeking a dynamic Jewish educator to lead our thriving, K-12 program, which serves more than 200 students and their families. Reporting to me as the Senior Rabbi and partnering with a talented clergy and professional team, the Director of Religious School will shape the Jewish learning experiences that help define the next generation of BHS families. We are a dynamic, enthusiastic, and diverse Downtown/Brownstone Brooklyn congregation close to the Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn Promenade — a neighborhood and community best described as an urban village. At BHS we seek to balance respect for and interest in Jewish tradition with creative and innovative responses to modernity. We seek to be not merely welcoming, but also inviting. Our on-going programming includes in-person and remote forms of worship, education, social justice, community activities, and member engagement. Our Klei Kodesh, our BHS clergy team, consists of me, the Associate Rabbi, the Cantor and the Rabbinic and Cantorial Interns. Our Senior Staff include our Executive Director, Director of Membership Engagement, Director of Development, and Director of Early Childhood Education. We are hoping that you want to be the next member of our team! We believe that BHS isn’t only a unique congregation, but also that we offer a very special approach to Jewish life and engagement. Join us! Sincerely, Rabbi Serge A. Lippe
