Middle School Spanish Teacher

Description:

  • Position Title: Teacher: Middle School Spanish
  • FLSA Classification: 75% FTE, exempt position
  • Job begins August 14, 2026
  • Reports To: Assistant Head of School

We are currently seeking a Middle School Spanish teacher who is passionate about our mission and eager to take on a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish to 6, 7th, and 8th-grade students in an independent Jewish day school
  • Plan and deliver curriculum for beginning, intermediate, and advanced Spanish classes in a developmentally appropriate manner, with a strong emphasis on differentiating instruction and utilizing assessments effectively.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment by engaging in supportive interactions with students and establishing clear expectations for community behavior.
  • Employ a diverse range of instructional modalities to effectively teach Spanish.
  • Integrate various technology tools to enhance Spanish instruction and engagement.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents and staff members.
  • Articulate and exemplify the school’s mission and core values.
  • Adhere to and support school policies.
  • Be a positive and contributing member of the professional community.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in subject matter preferred.
  • Fluency in modern Spanish.
  • Teaching credential or Master's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of teaching in an independent school setting is preferred.
  • Eligible to work in the US.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills.
  • Collaborative work ethic
  • Good sense of humor and warm demeanor

Details:
