Berman Hebrew Academy is growing and strengthening our Middle School Educational Support team for the 2026–27 academic year.

Berman Hebrew Academy is a warm, inclusive Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Rockville, MD, serving students from Early Childhood through 12th Grade on one beautiful campus.

Position Overview

We are seeking skilled and compassionate educators who are passionate about helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop strong learning habits. The ideal candidate believes in student potential, values collaboration, and is committed to fostering both academic growth and independence.

Responsibilities

Middle School Educational Support teachers are expected to:

  • Provide targeted academic support to middle school students across subject areas.

  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to ensure alignment of strategies, expectations, and instructional goals.

  • Help implement accommodations and support plans in partnership with faculty and families.

  • Communicate student progress clearly and consistently with families and colleagues.

  • Promote student independence, organization, executive functioning skills, and self-advocacy.

  • Participate actively in meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal, including supervision duties such as lunch or recess.

Professional Environment & Support

  • New team members are paired with a mentor/coach to support successful integration and professional growth.

  • New faculty participate in monthly cohort meetings to support connection and collaboration within the Berman community.

  • The school day runs from 8:15 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; staff are expected to be on campus during their contracted hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree or formal training in special education preferred.

  • Experience supporting diverse learners and implementing accommodations.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Commitment to student growth, confidence-building, and independence.

  • Alignment with the mission and values of Berman Hebrew Academy.

Compensation

Salary range: $50,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience and education.
