Position: Hospitality AttendantLocation: Beacon Hebrew Alliance in Beacon, NYHours: before/after services Friday evenings or Saturday mornings, additional hours for b-mitzvahs, occasional events in the evening during the week and Sundays. Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and friendly individual to assist with setting up and cleaning up our community potluck gatherings after/before services along with other events and occasionally event check-in. The ideal candidate will be reliable, proactive, and comfortable interacting with guests. The position involves preparing the venue before the event, ensuring a smooth experience for attendees, and cleaning up afterward to maintain a welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities:Setup:- Arrange tables and chairs for guests.- Lay down tablecloths and set up potluck tables: utensils, napkins, and plates.- Prepare the event area by organizing and restocking the food and drink stations. During Event:- Ensure the potluck area remains tidy and orderly during the event.- Refill cups, replenish napkins or utensils if needed.- Direct guests to program areas in building if asked. Cleanup:- Collect and clean remaining dishes, utensils, and tableware.- Wipe down tables and clean the event space.- Sweep floors and ensure the venue is left in good condition.- Safely dispose of trash and recyclables.- Ensure all leftover food is properly stored or disposed of. Occasional Event Check-In:- Check-in set up of table and chairs (pop-up tent if outdoors).- Use of varying check-in systems (sometimes it's digital, sometimes paper and clip-board).- Processing POS payments using Square. Qualifications:- Must be reliable and punctual.- Friendly, approachable, and comfortable interacting with a diverse group of people.- Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.- Previous experience in event setup or food service is a plus, but not required.- Ability to lift and move light equipment (tables, chairs, etc.) as needed.- Must have basic knowledge of food safety and cleanliness practices.
