As Austin Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in Austin, diving deep into your community, cultivating strong teen leadership, aligning resources, and driving growth. SHAPING THE FUTURE FOR TEENS AND YOURSELF
As Austin Director, your responsibilities will include:
Teen Experience & Wellness
- Build relationships with teens across all levels of engagement throughout Austin
- Build a strong teen culture aligned with BBYO’s Code of Conduct and Culture Credo
- Provide leadership training, mentorship and coaching to teen leaders and advisors
- Help teens execute a calendar of programs that grows membership, increases engagement, and promotes leadership opportunities
- Provide leadership regarding teen discipline issues and parent concerns in Austin and implement programs that cultivate a community of kindness and accountability
- Expand and deepen BBYO’s reach by starting new chapters to meet the needs of a growing and evolving community
- Attend and staff Lonestar BBYO regional conventions and Austin events
- Participate in organizational projects, teams, and summer programs as assigned to expand the movement, strengthen teen leadership, and promote positive culture
Community Partnerships
- Seek out and develop relationships with parents, alumni and community partners to mobilize more people to strategically grow BBYO
- Identify and lead strategic partnerships within the community that strengthen chapter and city-wide programmatic offerings
- Enhance BBYO’s visibility through strategic communications and marketing
Philanthropic Engagement
- Execute Giving Tuesday in the Austin community to elevate the experience and raise even more dollars
- Assist with fundraising efforts and relationship building across the communities
- Manage grants and relationships with local partners, as necessary
- Build strategic funding alliances to elevate the Jewish teen agenda and BBYO’s presence
ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR MAKING A LASTING IMPACT
Our team has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation to drive positive change. Additionally, these skills are key to success for the Austin Director:
- Experience: 5-7 years of work
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or Degrees in social work, human development, psychology, education or related fields preferred.
Abilities:
- Must reside in the Austin, TX area.
- Ability to travel as needed throughout the community and region, attend BBYO’s International Convention each February, and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in the S. for 2-3 weeks each summer.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours (some nights and weekends)
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the US without holding a visa or sponsorship.
- To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable law.
