Seattle BBYO City Director/ SJCC Teen Engagement Manager

Location: Seattle, Washington (office at the Stroum JCC in Mercer Island, WA)

Start Time: February 2024

Salary: $70,000

This position is a partnership between BBYO Seattle and the Stroum Jewish Community Center of Greater Seattle.

BBYO and the SJCC are looking for awesome talent to join our teams as both the Seattle BBYO City Director and the Stroum JCC Teen Engagement Manager. This position will play a key role in the success of our organizations by working closely with teens, the community and other BBYO and SJCC staff to strengthen and grow our teen engagement throughout the Pacific Northwest. What you’ll get to do as our BBYO City Director:

  • Lead the BBYO community as they work with teens to create impactful, fun and dynamic programs including large scale community projects and four to five overnight conventions each year
  • Provide guidance and supervise the advisors that work directly with local chapters
  • Work directly with teen leaders to expand membership and impact of BBYO throughout the region
  • Assist in the coordination of city-wide events where the chapters work together to plan and implement a program.
  • Build partnerships and networks in the Greater Seattle community
  • Empower and inspire teens, volunteers and advisors through your mentorship, coaching and training

What you’ll get to do as our SJCC Teen Engagement Manager:

  • As the SJCC Teen engagement manager, the shared professional will be responsible for developing new SJCC teen offerings and increasing overall teen engagement at SJCC sponsored and co-sponsored programs, including:
    • Developing a monthly dinner and learning program
    • Acting as the lead coordinator for a J-Serve project each year with a minimum of 2 community partners outside of BBYO and the SJCC.
  • Developing and staffing the SJCC summer counselor-in-training program
  • Staffing select SJCC events as part of the SJCC Community Engagement Team.

*As a member of the SJCC administrative team, attendance at SJCC meetings and trainings is required

  • Note: These responsibilities may change over time based on the evolving needs of the SJCC.

Role Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of work experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Management experience preferred
  • Experience with youth or teens is preferred
  • Experience leading teams or projects is preferred
  • Ability to work in-person throughout Seattle, WA
  • Reliable transportation to visit communities throughout the Greater Seattle area
  • Unrestricted work authorization to work in the U.S. without holding visa or sponsorship now or in the future
