Position title: Fitness Center Attendant. FLSA: Hourly/Non-Exempt/Part-Time. DEPARTMENT: Sports & fitness. PAY RANGE: $12.00 – $14.00 per hour. Reporting Relationship: Reports to Fitness & Group Exercise Supervisor. Summary: Ensure the fitness center operates smoothly and provides a welcoming, clean and safe environment for members and guests; deliver high-quality customer service. Success factors: Teamwork; strong communication and customer service; friendly, patient, professional and empathetic; strong multitasking, prioritization, and organizational skills; maintain strict confidentiality of member information. Key Responsibilities: Engage with members and guests, greet and respond to questions; Build and maintain professional relationships; Provide basic assistance, orientation and guidance on equipment; Ensure a safe environment and report safety/emergency situations; Clean equipment after use and keep fitness center tidy; Launder towels and maintain supply; Enforce etiquette; Continuously walk the floor engaging members while enforcing safety and sanitation; Monitor equipment and report maintenance issues; Model a healthy lifestyle and maintain a positive attitude; Provide hospitality and collaborate with all departments; Maintain confidentiality; Other duties as assigned. Physical requirements and working conditions: Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and act swiftly in emergencies; Regularly talk and hear; Regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch; Occasionally climb, push and pull; Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs; Regularly exposed to a noisy environment and in close proximity to others. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Outstanding interpersonal skills; Strength and cardio training experience; Current CPR/AED Certification preferred but not required.
