Position Title: Childcare attendantFLSA: Hourly/Non-ExemptPart-time, not to exceed 20 hours per weekDepartment: MembershipJob description: Provide a safe and engaging environment for children ages 8 weeks to 9 years in the JCC Childcare Room while caregivers/parents use the JCC facilities during: Monday–Friday 8am–noon; Monday–Thursday 4pm–7pm; Sunday 9am–noon.Job Competencies: Passion for working with children; excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills; ability to work with multiple children; friendly, patient, professional and empathetic; able to work well under pressure; maintain strict confidentiality.Key Responsibilities: Lead age-appropriate developmental, sensory and active play; follow policies to ensure safe, age-appropriate activities; greet children and parents and ensure proper check-in/out; adhere to staff guidelines; maintain cleanliness and organization; maintain a caring attitude; daily sterilization of toys, tables and areas; perform other responsibilities as assigned.Physical requirements: Respond swiftly in emergencies; talk and hear; stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch; occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasional exposure to hazardous material (diapers); noisy environment and close proximity to others.Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required; CPR/AED/First Aid preferred; prior experience with young children preferred; excellent interpersonal skills required.To apply, email your resume to Gretchen Randall at randallg@jcc-sa.org.
