POSITION TITLE: DriverFLSA: Hourly/Non-ExemptDEPARTMENT: TransportationHOURS: Up to 15 hours/week, in personREPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director of Systems and OperationsRole: Provide safe and reliable transportation to programs and events offered at the Barshop JCC, including older adult activities and after-school programs and field trips. Ensure that the bus or van is safe to operate.Key Competencies:- Excellent driving record; works well as part of a collaborative team; outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; experience working with children and older adults; reliable, punctual, meets deadlines; invested in overall success of the agency.Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Transport older adults from home to the JCC for program events and classes.- Transport after-school students daily from school to the JCC and field trips.- Assist older adults and children with getting on and off vehicles as needed.- Vehicle maintenance: check vehicles for oil, transmission fluid, etc.; wash vans; report any problems.- Protect the health and safety of all transported children and older adults.- Attend team meetings and other meetings as scheduled by the JCC.- Do agency errands as needed; perform other duties as assigned.Physical Requirements and Work Environment:- Regularly required to see, talk and hear; sit, stand and walk; bend and pull.- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.- Regularly required to use a telephone; occasionally a computer.- Regularly required to work outside in occasionally hot and cold environments; work in loud and noisy environments and in close proximity to others.- Regularly required to drive a 14-seat passenger van, 29-seat passenger bus, 57-seat passenger school bus, and two 6-seat mini-vans.Qualifications:- 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.- Possess a Class B or A Commercial Driver’s License with P Endorsement – Required.- Clean driving record required.- Experience working with older adults and children preferred.- Experience driving multi-passenger vehicles such as a school bus, passenger van and mini-van.- Infant/Child/Adult CPR and First Aid certification preferred.Interested candidates should email their resume to Gretchen Randall, Director of Internal Engagement, at randallg@jcc-sa.org.
