Job Title: Special Education TeacherReports to: Senior LeadershipJob location: Chicago, ILFull and part-time positions availablePOSITION SUMMARYREACH, Chicago’s nonprofit organization that addresses a system-wide need for to support students in the Jewish day schools through professional development, coaching, consultation, and ancillary services to students, seeks Special Education Teachers in Judaic and General Studies to work in various schools in the Chicago area.Responsibilities include:- Providing specialized intervention in various subjects in a 1:1 and/or group setting- Creating and implementing student goals, curriculum, and data monitoring- Collaborating with school and parents to develop students’ annual Individualized Learning Plan (ILP)- Supporting Student Service department with various assessment needs- Facilitating inclusion in the general education classroom through co-teaching and/or collaborative work with general education teacher, as well as provide modified work per the student’s Individualized Learning Plan (ILP)- Providing consistent communication, consultation, resource information, and materials regarding students with exceptional needs to parents and general education teachers- Coordinating special education services with general education program- Participating in review and revision of Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) (monitoring student progress, re-evaluating plan for students who do not show progress)- Serving as case manager for assigned students- Collecting and submitting data on a regular basis- Participating in regular professional developmentQUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (preferably in special education, teaching or related field)- LBS-I endorsement- Knowledge of updated IL Common Core State Standards- 2-5 years of experience in special education, a classroom setting, or a related disciplineThe ideal candidate will have compassion, flexibility, communicate effectively, have knowledge of best practices, be a team player, use data-driven instruction, and be comfortable with culturally diverse settings.Competitive salary commensurate with experience.To apply, send cover letter and resume to careers@reachchicago.org.
