Finance Coordinator, JDC Hungary

Summary and Purpose:

The Finance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organization in Hungary, ensuring compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and other requirements. The role works closely with program teams and the regional finance team in a dynamic international environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check and approve due diligence documents of grantees
  • Support the admin team, answer their questions, advise on templates, due diligence, and other related issues (e.g. taxation; invoicing)
  • Check supplier contracts related to JDC programs and book related invoices
  • Check and book expense reports of employees
  • Support the Finance team of the Szarvas Camp during the high season (June-September) on accounting, invoicing, reporting tasks
  • Assist with regional reporting tasks in SAP
  • Ensure backup coverage for team members (Finance manager and/or financial assistant)
  • Work on other daily issues and projects with the Europe regional finance team.

Requirements

  • Economic University or Accounting College degree
  • 3-4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong English skills
  • Strong computer skills, professional knowledge of Excel
  • Precise, proactive, trustworthy person
  • Able to work in a team and also independently
  • Interest in accounting complemented by project-oriented thinking and legal awareness
  • Fast and systematical thinking
  • Interested in the Foundation’s activities, motivated to work for the nonprofit sector
  • Chartered accountant- an advantage
  • Experience in working with a multinational company- an advantage
  • Regular availability during business days to support ongoing financial operations and respond to time-sensitive matters.
