JDC, the world’s leading Jewish humanitarian organization, is seeking a versatile and motivated grant writer to join our in-house grant writing team. If you have exceptional writing and organizational skills and are eager to grow your professional toolkit, this job may be for you.

As part of JDC’s expending in-house grant writing team, you will craft narratives about our diverse programs across 70 countries, bringing to life the activities and strategies that drive our global impact. Collaborating with fundraisers, program experts, and marketing professionals, you will learn about the inner workings of a historic yet forward-thinking non-profit, while developing broad skills through ongoing professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Crafting grant applications, proposals, reports, and other documents at varying levels of detail, and in different styles and media, for a range of audiences
  • Collecting, organizing, analyzing, and synthesizing information from various sources
  • Producing clear, accurate, and donor-relevant drafts that reflect strong subject knowledge and sound judgment
  • Editing and proofreading documents, including conducting self-review
  • Brainstorming and problem solving with the writing team and other colleagues about work processes, professional development, and writing in new ways for donors
  • Learning continually about JDC’s programs and strategies, and the fields of fundraising, and grant writing
  • Harnessing the power of generative AI strategically and responsibly

Qualifications:

  • At least three years’ experience in grant writing
  • English mother tongue; Hebrew proficiency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with generative AI - an advantage
  • Proficiency with Canva - an advantage
  • Knowledge of the American Jewish philanthropic environment - an advantage
  • Bachelor's degree
