We are looking for an experienced Applications Manager to lead the applications department in the IT division.
Job description
We are looking for an experienced leader to manage our Applications Department within the IT division, directly managing 7–8 team members in total, including team leaders and individual contributors. The role combines strategic leadership and hands-on delivery, empowering teams with autonomy while providing guidance and support to ensure effective management of responsibilities.
The Applications Manager will also oversee cross-organizational application projects, leading processes of system design, specification, and implementation for diverse programs, ensuring high-quality delivery across both ongoing operations and complex projects. Roles and responsibilities
Team & Resource Management
- Manage application team leaders and oversee all systems within their responsibility.
- Coordinate work across business partners, vendors, systems analysts, developers, and consultants.
- Allocate resources effectively; manage priorities and workload across projects.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure quality execution by internal teams and external suppliers.
- Track and report project KPIs and performance metrics.
- Ensure clear, consistent communication with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Promote a culture of professional project management and develop team capabilities.
Project & Delivery Management
- Lead end-to-end project management including design, planning, execution, tracking, and control.
- Manage Gantt charts and work plans; monitor milestones and deliverables.
- Ensure all tasks meet planned schedules, budgets, and scope.
- Conduct regular status reviews and provide clear updates to managers, stakeholders, and customers.
- Lead project meetings, steering committees, and governance routines.
- Implement and maintain a unified project management methodology across the team.
- Identify project risks, manage changes in scope, and maintain contingency plans.
Job Requirements
Experience & Background
- At least 5 years of experience managing information systems projects (ERP, CRM, BI, etc.) – mandatory.
- Experience managing both employees and managers under direct supervision – mandatory.
- Significant background in systems analysis and business process design.
- Proven experience in global or multicultural project environments.
- Strong familiarity with standard project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid).
- Hands-on experience with project management tools and reporting systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in: computer science/ Information Systems/ Business Administration, or a related field -mandatory.
- Master’s degree – an advantage.
