Budget and Finance Director, Global Units

JDC is seeking an experienced finance professional to oversee the budgetary and financial management of multi-jurisdictional units within JDC.

The Budget and Finance Director has overall authority over and responsibility for the budgetary and financial management of the units, ensuring the responsible and effective fiscal oversight of the units.

Responsibilities:

Budget, Planning & Management

  • Provide oversight and management of all budgetary and financial functions of the units
  • Direct and oversee the planning and development and implementation of units’ budgets. Play key role in setting annual priorities, projection of expenses, revenue and appropriate resource allocation for the units’ budgets.
  • Ensure accountability of the budgetary processes through development of solid KPIs for each unit; build dashboards to manifest complex financial data in real time; provide comprehensive and analytical reports for management. Responsible for preparation of financial analysis data and reports to be used as management tool by the unit Executive Directors, the global Finance team and Board Committees for decision making.
  • Forecast budgetary requirements, monitor budget vs. actuals, and plan use of available sources
  • Monitor and ensure financial implementations and operations related to the annual budgets.
  • Oversee, monitor and implement the Finance and Budget systems.

Financial Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure appropriate control, procurement and accounting activities
  • Ensure all financial reports comply with domestic laws, donor requirements and organizational policies
  • Manage funding transfers and supervise related financial operations

Leadership & Strategic Support

  • Support the leadership of each unit in creating strategic business plans
  • Supervise and provide professional supervision to finance staff
  • Provide data for unit leadership, actively participate in decision-making related to the teams’ operations and planning
  • Work closely with the appropriate board committees.

Additional projects and responsibilities as needed

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Strong data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting capabilities.
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills
  • Proven experience in budget development and financial forecasting, and multi-currency financial management
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize work to achieve tight deadlines in a complex environment
  • CPA certification an advantage
  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g. Adaptive Insights, Blackbaud, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP platforms). Familiarity with SAP an advantage
  • Attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and technological savvy
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and timely manner
  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and external constituents in a professional and flexible manner; cultural competency to work effectively with colleagues from around the world and across varying backgrounds
  • Ability to build relationships with internal departments, external auditors, and partners
  • Experience in people management an advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (finance, accounting, economics) required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • English and Hebrew at equivalent of mother-tongue level
