Marketing and Communications Manager, Szarvas
Job Title: Marketing & Communications Manager, Szarvas Camp
Reports to: JDC Hungary/EAA – Szarvas Camp Director
Location: Office, based in JDC Hungary offices (Sip str 12, Budapest) with regular visits to Szarvas Camp site
Start Date: Immediate
Overall purpose:
A results-driven Marketing and Communications Manager with extensive experience in crafting innovative strategies and producing high-quality content to enhance organizational visibility and engagement. Adept at managing digital projects, social media platforms, and brand alignment while fostering collaboration across teams. Passionate about impactful, mission-based storytelling, youth development, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Marketing and Content Creation
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns to align with organizational goals, promote camp programs and initiatives.
- In cooperation with MarCom Associate, produce engaging content, including graphics, videos, and copy, for social media, websites, and promotional materials.
- Plan and manage content calendars, email marketing campaigns, and digital advertising.
- Develop social media strategy, optimizing platforms to drive engagement.
- Conduct regular performance analysis to refine strategies and maximize impact.
- Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of Szarvas Camp’s website development to ensure alignment with brand guidelines, user experience best practices, and organizational goals.
- Education and Program Team Support
- Collaborate with Education team to bring annual educational topic/theme to life.
- Create, develop and oversee, content strategy for summer team (e.g. shot list, content guide, reviewing work)
- Recruit, train, manage and supervise seasonal photographers and videographers, in coordination with Specialist Coordinator
- Digital Projects and Registration Platform Management
- Manage online projects (financial, technical, content, UX/UI) with third-party vendors.
- Lead the development and implementation of large-scale digital projects, including Salesforce integration.
- Administer databases, registration systems, and ensure compliance with GDPR regulations.
- Community Partnerships
- Lead communication and coordination with world-wide community partners to bring youth and teens to Szarvas Camp, in partnership with Camp Director.
- Build strong relationships with partners and field professionals to enhance outreach efforts.
- Work with JDC External Relations team to support new and on-going initiatives.
Qualifications / expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field and/or 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
- Proven expertise in marketing, content development, digital strategy, storytelling and communication management.
- Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills
- Proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and various content management systems.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken). Additional language skills in Hungarian, Russian and/or Hebrew preferred.
- Experience in video creation & digital editing
- Demonstrated portfolio of work
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Experience working with diverse teams and fostering collaborative and supportive environments.
- Passion for youth development and familiarity with (Jewish) camp culture is a plus
