Your Department

AJC's Regional Offices connect the local communities with AJC’s global advocacy work to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel. We maintain the agency's nationwide presence by attracting leaders and donors to AJC, enhancing the organization’s influence with key local, national, and international decision makers and stakeholders, implementing advocacy initiatives at the state and local level, and establishing and nurturing community relationships.

Your Impact

This position makes an impact at AJC by playing a key role in the fundraising cycle; discovery, identification, cultivation, gift close and stewardship. Incumbents will work closely with AJC lay leaders, staff, and partners to secure resources for AJC's mission by fostering meaningful relationships with donors and prospects. They will serve as an interdepartmental liaison, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across teams.

Your Role

The Assistant Director will play a critical role in the overall goal of raising significant funds to support AJC's vital work, with specific focus aimed at gifts at the Marshall society level-$1,800-$9,999. The Assistant Director will be responsible for executing strategies, goals, and objectives, cultivating relationships and corresponding with strategic contacts, coordinating events and meetings, and completing research, reporting, and other tasks. This position will also oversee website development and design, contributing to a strong online presence and engaging communications materials.

Events

  • Participate in the planning and execution of all fundraising events aiming to raise significant funds while adhering to a strict budget, ensuring successful and cost-effective events that engage donors and contributes to the overall AJC New York fundraising goal.
  • Administer all event logistics for fundraising events and manage relationships with external partners, streamlining vent operations and freeing up the Development Director's time for other essential tasks.
  • Coordinate event registration, communications, and graphic design tasks for fundraising events, ensuring cohesive and professional event experiences for attendees and donors.
  • Encourage engagement with AJC's Donor Recognition Societies, inspiring donors to identify with the organization's giving ladder and contribute to its mission.

Fundraising

  • Participate in solicitation at all donor level with specific focus placed on AJC’s Marshall Society (gifts of $1800-9,999).
  • Cultivate meaningful relationships in the giving cycle; discovery, identification, cultivation, gift close and stewardship
  • Engage in moves management of gifts for current donors and prospecting for future and potential donors to AJC

Communications

  • Liaise across departments to develop and implement a marketing and communications plan that maintains a consistent brand and tone. Collaborates across departments to ensure consistency of message and brand on all materials to help drive participant to AJC New York programs and services
  • Update the AJC New York website, ensuring it aligns with national branding guidelines and effectively communicates important information to donors
  • Develop and implement digital marketing strategies to increase website traffic and engagement to support donor programming
  • Work with AJC’s graphics department on visual content to support organizational messaging, marketing materials, events and donor communications

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Advanced job skills and knowledge, and developing leadership skills

Compensation

The salary for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 depending on relevant experience and location.
