Position Overview
AFOBIS seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Fundraising Associate to join our team in Los Angeles. This full-time hybrid role is ideal for a development professional with 3–5 years of experience who is eager to deepen their skills and grow into a more senior fundraising position.
The Associate will work closely with and support the West Coast Director in cultivating relationships with individual donors, foundations, and community partners, while also managing some administrative and logistical aspects of donor engagement and events.

Position Overview

The Associate will work closely with and support the West Coast Director in cultivating relationships with individual donors, foundations, and community partners, while also managing some administrative and logistical aspects of donor engagement and events.
Key Responsibilities
1. Donor & Community Engagement
- Support donor stewardship efforts, including personalized outreach, follow-ups, and acknowledgement processes.
- Help identify, research, and cultivate new donor prospects and community partners.
- Assist in managing relationships with current and prospective donors, foundations, and community organizations.
- Developing and coordinating a robust next generation of supporters
- Support the West Coast Director with donor meetings, presentations and strategy development.
- Track donor information and interactions in CRM system.
- Help plan and execute donor cultivation events, parlor meetings, and community outreach programs.
- Coordinate logistics, vendor communications, guest lists, and follow-up.
- Assist with day-of event execution (both in-person and virtual).
- Maintain donor records, coordinate gift processing, acknowledgements etc with the American Friends office in NY
- Provide scheduling, meeting prep, and follow-up support to the West Coast Director
- Support the maintenance of accurate fundraising records and reports
- 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proactive, dependable, and eager to grow in the field of fundraising
- Deeply connected to local Jewish community and active in Jewish life.
- Experience with CRM systems (Bloomerang, an advantage)
- Passion for social impact, disability inclusion, supporting Israel and the mission of Beit Issie Shapiro
- Regular local travel in Los Angeles, across California; some potential interstate. Must have access to a vehicle and the ability to travel independently.
- Ability to work across multiple time zones
- Willing and able to work some evenings, weekends
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
