The Grant Manager is responsible for identifying new funding opportunities, applying for new grants, and reporting, monitoring, and ensuring compliance for a portfolio of governmental and private grants.
Grant Manager Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage existing grants by: tracking grants; developing internal reporting systems; writing reports; maintaining excellent historical records; working with staff to ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations
- In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, the Grant Managers will develop a comprehensive plan with ambitious annual grant revenue goals for the agency including but not limited to: Monitor and track progress towards goals; solicit, steward, monitor and manage grants to ensure that annual agency grant revenue goals are met
- Grant Managers will collaborate to maintain a grant calendar for all funding requests
- Prospecting/Identification of New Funding Opportunities
- Develop a comprehensive strategy for conducting prospect research and soliciting foundations and granting agencies for the benefit of Alpert Jewish Family Service and Levine Jewish Residential and Family Service
- Manage the identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship of grant funders
- Work closely with Agency staff to effectively communicate the mission and programs of the organization to funders
- Grant Writing
- Analyze RFP and additional Funding Opportunities
- Develop, write, and assemble funding applications for all Funding Opportunities
- Work with appropriate Agency staff to gather information for proposal development, including narrative content and grant staffing patterns
- Research mental health and social service related issues and integrate findings including statistics, program models and trends into a work product
- In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer and Finance Team, manage the renewal and re-application process for existing grants to ensure continuing funding
- Grant Monitoring and Reporting
- Research, recommend, implement, and maintain software/systems that support grants management
- Manage and maintain a complete understanding of reporting requirements for all Agency grants to ensure timely compliance with contract requirements
- Coordinate and/or prepare reporting in collaboration with departmental/program leadership
- Monitor all internal and final deadlines, ensuring grant components are addressed and met by program staff
- Prepare written and statistical reports for various audiences
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree: minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grants management required
- Strong online research skills
- Ability to learn new applications quickly
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
- High achievement-oriented as well as creative and motivated
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner
- Must be a good team player and have a strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and mission driven environment
