The Development Associate plays a central role in supporting donor relations, project execution, and departmental operations within a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment. This position requires exceptional organization, strong technical proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. The Development Associate works closely with senior development staff, internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the smooth functioning of development initiatives, donor stewardship, and national programs.
Key Responsibilities of the Development Associate:
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Send donor correspondence including acknowledgements, recognition letters, invoices, and other communications.
- Generate detailed donor reports.
- Prepare and distribute email marketing messages to donor and prospect audiences.
Database & Technical Support
- Perform ongoing database updates, data clean‑up, and manual lookups to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Create data sets for analysis and assist with reporting and basic analysis needs across the department.
- Provide support for virtual and in‑person events, including registration and reporting.
Project Coordination & Cross‑Departmental Support
- Assist the Senior Development team in executing national development campaigns, AIPAC Congressional Summit initiatives, missions, and other major programs.
- Collaborate across departments to enhance communication, workflow, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Support additional development department tasks as assigned.
Event & Program Support
- Contribute to planning and preparation for AIPAC events, both virtual and in‑person.
- Provide logistical support including materials preparation, communications, and coordination with designers and print vendors.
- Proofread and edit publications; manage print production and interface with internal and external designers.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Development team.
- Assist the Senior Development and Endowment Associate with gift processing, adjustments, and acknowledgements.
- Prepare expense reports, reimbursements, and departmental purchases.
- Assist with general departmental operations to ensure smooth workflow and timely task completion.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in development, project management, or nonprofit operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- High technical proficiency, including CRM/database systems, email marketing platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively, in a fast-paced environment, with different teams and stakeholders.
AIPAC is offering a competitive market base salary between $53,000.00 and $60,000.00 for the position. A job offer within the range will depend on how closely a candidate’s skills and experience match the role’s requirements. AIPAC also offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package that contributes to employees’ overall total compensation package. We currently work remotely two days a week and in our offices the other three. AIPAC is an equal-opportunity employer.
