Director, Rabbinic Leadership
AIPAC
The Western States Regional Rabbinic Director will be responsible for training targeted rabbis to effectively engage members of Congress, empower congregants to meaningfully participate in pro-Israel politics, and use their unique voices to publicly advocate for bipartisan nonprescriptive activism surrounding the US-Israel relationship.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fundraising and Communal Leadership Engagement:
- Work with clergy to encourage key communal lay leaders to invest in pro-Israel political activity.
- Collaborate with AIPAC staff in the Western States region to create opportunities to increase political activism in targeted communities
- Political Engagement:
- Empower targeted rabbis in key congressional districts to develop and nurture relationships with members of Congress on issues of importance to the US-Israel relationship
- Educate select rabbis to be effective policy advocates
- Work with specific rabbis to mobilize their communities to garner congressional support for pro-Israel initiatives
- Advocacy:
- Encourage rabbis to share messages in support of AIPAC
- General:
- Deliver speeches and briefings on the importance of political activism in support of the US-Israel relationship.
- Ensure key data is captured in our database in a timely manner and to use data to make more impactful decisions, analyze opportunities, and evaluate success
- Work with national leadership to ensure external messaging resonates in the field
- Other duties as assigned by the National Rabbinic Director
Qualifications & Skills:
- Passion for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship and commitment to AIPAC’s mission
- 5 years of development or political experience
- Deep understanding of synagogues and the broader Jewish community
- Ability to work with all streams of Judaism
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to be flexible as demanded by a rapidly changing environment
- Travel required
- Knowledge of Middle East current events
AIPAC is offering a competitive market base salary between $115,000.00 and $137,000.00 for the position. A job offer within the range will depend on how closely a candidate's skills and experience match the role's requirements. AIPAC also offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package that contributes to employees’ overall total compensation package. We currently work remotely two days a week and in our offices the other three. AIPAC is an equal-opportunity employer.
