Overview
ADL’s Communications & Digital team is looking for a dynamic intern to join us from June 15 to August 7, 2026. The ideal candidate will have experience with, or an interest in, communications, journalism, public policy, social justice, and human rights and one who demonstrates a keen interest in ADL’s mission to fight antisemitism and combat hate in all forms. Our Communications internship provides the opportunity for students to gain practical experience with shaping ADL’s response to issues and breaking news; producing readouts of ADL’s earned media footprint; learning from ADL professionals about the day-to-day operations of a communications shop for a major civil rights organization; and meeting with ADL professionals across departments, including National Affairs, International Affairs, Center on Antisemitism Research, Center on Technology and Society, and the Center on Extremism.
Application portals will close at 3 PM ET on March 10, 2026. ADL will confirm the selected candidates by mid-April.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Communications & Digital team with press releases, statements, talking points, and social media copy
- Providing input in shaping ADL’s response to issues and breaking news
- Producing readouts and reports of ADL’s earned media footprint
- Attend and participate in the ADL Summer Internship Learning Program sessions, where you will get to have discussions with accomplished leaders and subject matter experts at ADL.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
- Passion for non-profit work
- Desire to start building career within nonprofit sector

Compensation and Hours
- This internship is paid $17.00/hr.
- The internship is 15 hours per week.
Location
- This internship will be hybrid, with on-site presence required in New York City.
What will you do during this internship?
- You will learn about real-life decision-making challenges and help us develop real-time solutions.
- You will have the opportunity to present your work at internal forums within ADL.
- You will have practical, hands-on experience working alongside veteran communications professionals in a high-pressure and high-intensity environment.
- Collaborate with, meet and learn from ADL subject matter experts at all levels and become familiar with the varied work we do to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment to all.”
