PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Specialist is responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting our Marketing Cloud platform to enhance marketing automation, campaign performance, and customer engagement across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud administration, campaign execution, data management, and process optimization. This role includes providing end-user support, training internal teams and cross-departmental power users, collaborating with Salesforce Signature Success teams, and working closely with business stakeholders to ensure accurate data, efficient processes, and effective use of the Marketing Cloud platform. The position plays a critical role in improving operational efficiency, driving marketing effectiveness, and enabling a seamless customer experience across all digital channels.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • As part of the IT Department, collaborate with Marketing to provide organization-wide Salesforce Marketing Cloud support, including troubleshooting, configuration, and optimization of Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact & Audience Builders.
  • Lead the technical design, build, testing, and deployment of multi-channel campaigns and complex customer journeys.
  • Implement audience segmentation and manage data extensions using SQL, Audience Builder, and Salesforce CRM data to enable precise targeting and personalization.
  • Implement personalization strategies using dynamic content, and responsive email design.
  • Ensure platform integrity, compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other relevant regulations, and maintain data hygiene.
  • Document workflows, campaign configurations, and processes to support team scalability and knowledge sharing.
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide actionable insights to improve engagement, conversion, and ROI.
  • Train and guide end users and a cross-departmental group of power users on platform features, best practices, and marketing automation processes.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce Signature Success teams to implement advanced strategies, platform improvements, and optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify process improvements, enhance data quality, and ensure campaigns align with business goals.
  • Stay current on Salesforce Marketing Cloud updates, features, and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact & Audience Builders).
  • Strong SQL and data management skills within Marketing Cloud.
  • Proficiency with email development and dynamic content.
  • Excellent communication, training, and collaboration skills for working with end users, power users, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience translating data insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing best practices, personalization, automation, and campaign analytics.

Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and campaigns in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of collaborating with Salesforce teams (including Signature Success) and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an Agile Framework preferred.
  • Experience in integrating Salesforce Marketing Cloud with third-party systems (API, REST/SOAP) preferred.
  • Experience leading training or mentoring end users and power users preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Certifications (Email Specialist, Consultant, Administrator) preferred.

Work Environment:

  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.

Compensation:

  • This position has a salary range of $95,000 to $108,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
