Adath Israel Congregation in Lawrenceville, NJ is seeking a part-time administrative assistant who is personable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask, prioritize, and work under deadlines. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to provide highly skilled administrative support.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher)
- Knowledge of Shulcloud is a plus
- Experience with mail merge
- Willingness and ability to learn other software
- Prior experience managing a database is a plus
- Excellent phone manner and experience with basic phone reception responsibilities
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- High level of personal and professional integrity
- Judaic knowledge is helpful, but not required
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and communicate in a professional manner with staff, congregants, and vendors
Responsibilities
- Answer phones, sort, and process mail
- Assist with preparation and distribution of synagogue communications including e-blasts, yahrzeit letters, statements, and donation acknowledgement letters
- Prepare printed materials for Shabbat, holidays, and events
- Data entry, filing, and organizing
- Assist Office Manager, Rabbi, and Hazzan with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Update and maintain database and retrieve information to serve as a resource to members and staff
