Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center is a year-round 180-person retreat facility that is in Falls Village, CT. The Hospitality Specialist position is a part-time role to assist in the day-to-day operations focused on the overall cleanliness of the facility including: dining areas, bathrooms, common areas, meeting rooms, lodging rooms and other related duties when assigned by the supervisor. The position reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor and Director of Guest Services. The candidate must possess a solid work ethic as well as provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor. The retreat center is not close to public transportation, so a personal vehicle will be necessary. You also must be able to drive and operate a company vehicle/van. This is a part-time position, and the schedule will not exceed an average of 24 hours per week. You must be able to work 6 hours per day and you are needed the following days/times: Sunday:10am-4pm- NOT flexible. Monday, Thursday and Friday are flexible, 6 hour days and can work between the hours of 7:30am-5:50pm. Please apply only if you are available and able to work the days and hours posted above. Responsibilities Include: You will be cleaning and restocking bathrooms, maintaining the appearance of common areas including sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, cleaning windows, organizing and stocking storage areas. Candidate will also be called upon for housekeeping duties, working quickly without sacrificing quality in order to prepare specific rooms for incoming guests including making beds, sanitizing and restocking bathrooms, vacuuming, and cleaning windows, furniture and other fixtures to retreat center standards of cleanliness. • Clean the floors, sweep and mop, make the beds, mopping, replenishing linens, wipe down door knobs, drawers, counters, etc. to ensure we have clean rooms and spaces. • Follow the guidelines of the Housekeeping Room Turnover Process. • Clean linens and blankets - transfer clean bedding from Sunshine Laundry van into housekeeping shed(s) and load housekeeping van with linens and blankets needed. • Maintain the cleanliness of all rooms and common spaces (including arts and crafts, staff lounge, main building, synagogue, offices, etc. • Taking inventory and replenishment of supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.) in all individual and common rooms / areas. • Set up common rooms (synagogue, rec. room, dining room, lounge, etc.) depending on program needs. • Alert the Supervisor and Maintenance of any problems with rooms. • Take out garbage from all individual and common rooms/areas. • Be respectful and helpful to colleagues, where it relates to cleanliness. • You may be approached by guests, please do your best to help respond to their inquiries or find someone who can help, i.e. Director of Retreats, Facilities Manager, or Manager on Duty. • Willingness to step in and help in different departments to help in busy time frames of the year. Qualifications: Good verbal communication skills. Strong Customer Service and Time Management Skills. Detail oriented and able to multitask. Ability to work independently and work well in a team environment. Flexibility to accept new responsibilities and direction as necessary. Needs to be receptive to and accepting of guidance from others. Ability to deal with difficult people and problems and work in a diverse group of people. Physical Demands: Stand for long periods of time. Push or pull 10-50 lbs. Lift 10-50 pounds. Rate of Pay: $17 - $18 per hour depending on experience. Working Conditions: This is a NON-EXEMPT position with varied work hours. The schedule will not exceed an average of 24 hours per week.
