Responsibilities:
Ensures the safety of guests in and around the pool. Responds to inappropriate behavior and emergencies.

  • Takes primary responsibility for the health, wellbeing, and happiness for guests using pool and the Pearlstone campus.
  • Recognizes and resolves individual or group behavior issues or problems; ensures pool rules are followed.
  • Provides and supervises entertainment activities for guests participating in the location’s pool and water feature activities.
  • Responds to medical emergencies; performs first aid, CPR/AED; stabilizes guest until the arrival of EMS.
  • Maintains cleanliness and neatness of pool, pool equipment, locker rooms and other facilities.
  • Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest; maintains effective guest relations.
  • Performs special projects delegated by management.

Other Duties:

  • Provide top notch customer service to all guests
  • Assist with Campus Rentals and Activities as assigned
  • Other tasks/duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent ideal.
  • American Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certification,
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification, and AED training. CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification is highly desirable
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

Note: Training will be paid for based on hourly commitment of 32 hours or more per week for a minimum of 10 weeks between roughly June 1 through August 31.

Working Conditions:
Works in an outdoor pool environment. Some heavy lifting required. This is a non-benefit eligible, on call/as needed position with a flexible weekly schedule not to exceed an average of eighteen hours per week.

Mental, Physical and Visual Skills:
Must be able to follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions with several concrete variables. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, and do calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages. Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies verbally or in writing. Must be able to do light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, performing such activities as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pulling, walking, pushing, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Have visual requirements of mid-range vision.
