The Sales Manager is responsible for leading all group sales, bookings, and business development efforts for the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center and administrative projects for the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The Sales Manager embodies Adamah s culture of hospitality, warmly welcoming all guests and approaching every interaction with positivity, professionalism, and a solution-oriented mindset.
The Sales Manager strategically manages the full retreat sales cycle, including responding to inquiries, conducting in-person and virtual site visits, negotiating contracts, cultivating and maintaining relationships with group leaders, and generating regular reports on retreat sales performance. The Manager identifies and nurtures prospective clients, builds authentic relationships, and ultimately converts those prospects into repeat retreat bookings. Finalized contracts are entered into the retreat management software and transitioned to Guest Services for execution. Additional administrative projects with the COO will be critical for operational success.
This role reports to the National Sales Director and works closely with the COO to review sales dashboards, occupancy rates, and other key performance metrics. This role also reports to COO for the COO administrative duties.
Excellence in communication whether through presentations, phone calls, email correspondence, or site visits is essential. The Sales Manager consistently represents Adamah with professionalism, warmth, and a strong commitment to exceptional hospitality.
Job Summary:
- Maintaining communication and relationships with existing group leaders is of the utmost importance.
- Responsible for closing contracts.
- Responding to inquiries and converting them into new business prospects.
- Optimizing retreat sales calendar.
- May be asked to support the National Sales Director, COO, CFO and CEO with available data to support our relationship with The Associated.
- Maintaining accurate and relevant data in our CRM system.
- Working with Marketing and Communication (MarCom) department on retreat sales strategies.
- Managing additional administrative projects from the COO.
Helpful prior skills and experience include:
- College Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Three years of sales, sales, event planning, or hospitality experience.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with Customer Relations Management software, such as Salesforce preferred, but not required.
- Experience with reservation software preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; includes effective listening and customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal/social relationship skills; team player.
- Initiative, resourcefulness; and experience as a self-starter.
- Ability to multi-task, work both independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated judgment and problem-solving skills; include accuracy with attention to detail, setting reasonable priorities and making sound, professional decisions.
- Effective time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience setting goals and monitoring performance against goals.
- Valid driver s license and auto insurance; travel may be required.
General:
- It is everyone s job to ensure the financial health of the organization through retreat sales, program revenue, and/or fundraising.
- Attend weekly department meetings.
- Attend Isabella Freedman meetings including leadership and guest services meetings.
- Attend monthly all-staff meetings.
- Must possess a solid work ethic with strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent attention to detail, professional verbal, and written communication skills in English, as well as provide excellent customer service.
- Must maintain a professional demeanor.
- Must be able to adapt to changing situations.
- Other tasks/duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
This is an exempt position with work hours set to 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday or unless there are specific times needed to attend weekend site visits, or events.
