Who We Are

We’re 18Doors, a fast-paced, national Jewish nonprofit with a warm, collegial, organizational culture and an entrepreneurial spirit. We are the only national Jewish nonprofit singularly focused on understanding, connecting with, and responding to the needs of Jewish multi-heritage individuals, couples and families.

With an annual budget of approximately $3 million, 18Doors has a fully remote staff, and rabbinic fellows and alumni in more than 30 communities across the United States and Canada. We are entering an exciting new chapter as we launch a strategic plan that will guide our growth and impact over the next three years.

Our mission is realized through providing direct content for Jewish multi-heritage individuals, couples, and families; by supporting the clergy, professionals, and lay leaders who serve them; and through field-building research and thought leadership for the Jewish communal field. We engage our audiences through a robust digital platform featuring essays, advice, resources, and recipes; a Jewish clergy referral service; a national rabbinic fellowship program; and learning opportunities for Jewish professionals, clergy, and lay leaders.

We want our team to reflect the diversity of the world and of the couples and families we serve. 18Doors is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from individuals who have been historically underrepresented in Jewish organizations, including people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ people. Over the past several years, our staff and board have engaged in ongoing work to strengthen our culture and ensure that all team members experience a genuine sense of belonging.

Role Overview

18Doors seeks a seasoned advancement professional to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of a comprehensive fundraising program that sustains and accelerates our mission. With a current operating budget of approximately $3 million and ambitious plans for growth under a new strategic plan, this is a pivotal moment for 18Doors’ advancement work. The CAO will build on a strong foundation to deepen donor relationships, expand philanthropic revenue, and ensure long-term financial health.

The CAO is responsible for all aspects of fundraising, including individual giving, major gifts, foundation support, and campaign strategy. This role oversees the full donor lifecycle—from cultivation and solicitation to stewardship—ensuring donors feel meaningfully connected to the impactful work they support. The CAO also partners with and supports board and lay leaders in their roles as ambassadors and fundraisers for 18Doors.

Working closely with the CEO and Board of Directors, the Chief Advancement Officer maximizes the effectiveness of the organization in meeting its advancement goals by setting strategy, tracking progress, and aligning fundraising efforts with organizational priorities. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CAO brings a collaborative, organization-wide perspective to growth and sustainability. The CAO reports to the CEO and oversees the Advancement Manager.
