Today's JCC reflects an impressive evolution from its inception in 1895 as the Irene Kaufmann Settlement - an organization that was established to respond to the emerging needs of a growing community of new immigrants to Pittsburgh. Today's membership comprises approximately 16,000 people of all backgrounds, and more than 2,800 individuals enter the JCC's facilities on a daily basis.
